There is a saying that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Although the origins of this saying are debated, the message is clear. When I am ready to learn something, the lesson will arrive. The key is to be open to receiving it. To be curious and let the lesson illuminate me. The lesson can reveal itself in a variety of ways–in the lyrics of a song, a comment from a friend, or written on the back of a truck. Since the lesson can show up anywhere, I need to be aware and alert, then follow this illuminating and inspirational guidance–that curious firefly–wherever it takes me.
This blog is about the lessons I receive and how I interpret them. I welcome your comments and insights and invite you to share your own illuminating lessons.
